What this scam is
You receive an unexpected payment in Venmo or Cash App and a message saying it was sent by accident, with a polite request to return it. The original funds came from a stolen card or account and will be clawed back, but the money you 'return' comes from your real balance and is gone. You end up paying the scammer out of your own pocket.
